Suggestions for the implementation of safety shoe standards

2022-8-3

The formulation of safety shoe standards provides technical basis for regulating and guiding employers and practitioners to correctly select and maintain protective shoes (boots). The implementation of standards requires the joint efforts of relevant management departments, employers, and practitioners in order to truly play the guiding role of standards. It is recommended that employers develop a management system for the selection, use, and maintenance of protective shoes (boots) in accordance with this standard, strengthen publicity and training, ensure the safety investment in the maintenance and upkeep of protective shoes (boots), and regularly evaluate, inspect, maintain, and replace the applicability of protective shoes (boots) to reduce the occurrence of foot injury accidents and make positive efforts to protect the personal safety and health of employees. Protective shoes (boots) should be inspected before use and regularly. If they do not meet the requirements, they should be scrapped. The criteria for determining the scrap of protective shoes (boots) mainly include two aspects: inspection of appearance defects and testing of protective performance. Users can refer to the scrapping conditions specified in the product manual, the scrapping requirements specified by the employer, or the scrapping principles in section 5.4 of the standard for inspection. For example, appearance defects specified in standard 5.2, other rejection conditions specified in the user manual or by the employer; Protective shoes (boots) that have been severely damaged or exceeded their effective use and storage period during use or storage; If it fails to pass regular inspections or spot checks, it should be judged as scrap.
